M. Eileen O’Connor is a senior counsel in the Brennan Center’s Voting Rights Program.
Before joining the Brennan Center, O’Connor served for eight years as a trial attorney in the Voting Section in the Civil Rights Division at the U.S. Department of Justice. Prior to joining the Voting Section, she was a Senior Counsel at the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, where she worked for five years on voting rights and fair housing issues. Before joining the Lawyers’ Committee, O’Connor was a litigation associate in private practice and clerked for Hon. Dickinson R. Debevoise at the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
O’Connor earned a BS in biomedical engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and a JD from NYU School of Law.
