On November 5, 2024, Michigan will hold a general election for two seats on the Michigan Supreme Court. The candidates are competing to fill the seats currently held by Justice Kyra Harris-Bolden and Justice David Viviano, whose terms are expiring on January 1, 2025. Viviano has announced that he will not run for reelection. Republicans have nominated State Rep. Andrew Fink, while law professor and juvenile justice advocate Kimberly Ann Thomas ran unopposed for the Democratic nomination. Justice Harris-Bolden defeated Patrick O’Grady in a special election and Justice Thomas defeated Andrew Fink in the general election.
