Hannah James is counsel in the Brennan Center’s Liberty and National Security Program, where she focuses on presidential emergency powers and government surveillance. Prior to joining the Brennan Center, she served as a legal fellow with the Center for Justice and Accountability.
James has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California and earned her law degree at Harvard Law School. She clerked for Judge Liam P. Hardy of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.
