Nirma Hasty is a senior video producer and editor at the Brennan Center.
Hasty is an award-winning documentary filmmaker. Prior to joining the Brennan Center, she produced, filmed, and edited feature videos and documentaries at NBC News Digital for nearly a decade. Her work focused on social justice issues, including immigration, racial inequality, and criminal justice. She produced projects such as Boiling Point: A City's Fight for Clean Water, Blood on Black Wall Street: The Legacy of the Tulsa Race Massacre, and The History of Black Voter Suppression —and the Fight for the Right to Vote.
She received her BFA in communication arts from the New York Institute of Technology.
