Pinky Weitzman is the vice president of communications and serves on the Brennan Center's executive management team. She leads communications and media strategies and initiatives, editorial content strategy, design and multimedia, marketing, events, brand, polling, Brennan en español, online advocacy, social media, website, email program, and online fundraising.
Prior to the Brennan Center, Weitzman worked with HIAS, an international refugee resettlement agency, overseeing online engagement and expansion. She also spent almost seven years at the American Civil Liberties Union, overseeing email, SMS, online advocacy, social media, web production, multimedia, graphic design, brand marketing, paid media, and the online store. She helped direct the multifold growth of the ACLU’s reach and online advocacy in the Trump era.
Weitzman served as the Iowa digital director for the 2016 Bernie Sanders presidential campaign. She is also a multi-instrumentalist in a variety of indie rock bands, most recently touring internationally with the Magnetic Fields. In prior roles, she served as the general manager at the School of Rock in New York City and ran software development teams at a technology company in San Francisco. She received a BS in computer science and communication from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
