Robyn Sanders was counsel with the Democracy Program’s Voting Rights and Elections Team where she focused on voting rights litigation and policy advocacy.
Sanders previously served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Associate Justice Anita Earls of the North Carolina Supreme Court. Before attending law school, she served as a policy analyst for the North Carolina Department of Public Safety where she worked on prison safety and security reform, juvenile justice reform, and was a policy aide for Governor Roy Cooper’s re-entry council.
Sanders earned her JD from Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, where she served as an editor of the Campbell Law Observer, served on the Executive Board of the Black Law Student’s Association, served as a legal writing teaching scholar, and was a member of the school’s nationally ranked trial team. While a law student, Sanders earned five “Book Awards” for the highest grade in her class in Constitutional Law II, Employment Discrimination, Race, Justice & American Law, Advanced Legal Writing, and Supreme Court Practice.
Sanders also received a master’s degree with high honors in Public Administration from North Carolina State University, and an LLM with distinction in International Legal Studies from Nottingham Trent University in England. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from North Carolina State University.
