In Montana, elections for two seats on the Supreme Court will be on the ballot in November. In one contest, Michael E. Wheat ran unopposed; Justice Wheat was appointed to the Montana Supreme Court earlier this year after Justice John Warner retired, and ran to retain his seat through 2014.  In the second contest, Beth Baker beat Nels Swandal to take over the seat of Justice William Leaphart, who retired.
