Brennan Center president Michael Waldman testifies Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019, before the House Administration Committee’s Subcommittee on Elections at a hearing titled “Voting Rights and Election Administration in America.” His testimony will discuss new laws that make it harder to vote, voter purges that threaten access to the ballot, and election security challenges states face heading into the 2020 election. He will also discuss reforms that expand access to voting and strengthen the security of election systems, including a sweeping democracy reform bill called H.R. 1 that was passed by the House earlier this year.
