A federal appeals court in Texas is considering whether to reverse a precedent allowing minority voter coalitions to jointly sue over racial discrimination.
Kendall Karson Verhovek is a senior media strategist at the Brennan Center, crafting and executing media strategies for the organization’s Voting Rights and Elections Program. Prior to joining the Brennan Center, she was a political reporter at ABC News in Washington, covering campaigns and elections. During her time on the politics beat, she reported on the 2020 presidential and 2018 midterm elections, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the 2020 election, as well as voting rights for the network's broadcast and digital platforms. She was also a frequent fixture on the campaign trail throughout the campaign cycles, covering candidates on both sides of the aisle.
Before that, Verhovek helped design public affairs and communications strategies for U.S. and international nonprofits across various issues, including climate change and education reform. She holds a bachelor’s degree in public policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
