On March 5, 2024, North Carolina held a primary election for a seat on the North Carolina Supreme Court. The candidates are competing to fill the seat currently held by Justice Allison Riggs, whose term expires on December 31, 2024. Justice Riggs defeated Superior Court judge Lora Cubbage in the Democratic primary and will run against North Carolina Court of Appeals judge Jefferson Griffin in the November general election.
